The Indian government will soon be unveiling a plan to make its schools and colleges more inclusive and less racist.
The Education Ministry has unveiled the plan, which it said would bring in more than 1,500 seats for women, in the 2019-20 budget.
In a press release, the ministry said that women will have more space in all schools and campuses from next year.
“We have decided to increase the number of women in our schools and college by 1,300 seats.
We are planning to expand this number to 2,500 from next academic year,” it said.
Women will have an additional 2,200 seats for them in the colleges and institutions from next financial year, the release added.
It also said that the government is considering adding new sections to the existing education laws.
