Teen who was kidnapped and forced to work for a gang of robbers was taught by an ‘expert’ to use a fake ID and use a mobile phone.
The 14-year-old, who is still at large, is believed to have been abducted from a home in the north-west of the country in April 2017 and forced into prostitution.
She was then allegedly kidnapped and held hostage for more than a year before being found by police and taken to a safe house in the city of Guwahati.
The young girl’s father, who lives in Guwagati, said the girl was kidnapped in Guwarapur, the state capital.
He said the gang was demanding money and he was desperate to find his daughter, who has since turned 18.
“The girl was taken to the place where I live, where she was held hostage,” he said.
Police said they are continuing to hunt for the girl’s kidnappers, who are believed to be aged between 16 and 19.”
