New Orleans teacher arrested for trying to flee country

NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans high school teacher was arrested on Tuesday after authorities said she tried to flee the country and was taken into custody.

The Louisiana State Police said 21-year-old Shana Marie Davis was arrested at a home in the 1500 block of Loyola Boulevard.

She was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail.

Davis is a third-year teacher at Westside High School in New Orleans.

Davis was scheduled to be released from jail Thursday.
